Many people who clearly accepted the binding character of the Second Vatican Council, and were faithful to the Pope and the Bishops, nonetheless also desired to recover the form of the sacred liturgy that was dear to them. This occurred above all because in many places celebrations were not faithful to the prescriptions of the new Missal, but the latter actually was understood as authorizing or even requiring creativity, which frequently led to deformations of the liturgy which were hard to bear. I am speaking from experience, since I too lived through that period with all its hopes and its confusion. And I have seen how arbitrary deformations of the liturgy caused deep pain to individuals totally rooted in the faith of the Church. (Letter of the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI to the Bishops of the whole world to present the “Motu Proprio” on the use of the Roman Liturgy prior to the reform of 1970)

I have to say that whenever I see things like this I do tend to dispair just a little. I wonder that if the Catholic Church is really God's one true Church as we confess, why does God let this happen? I have great trouble in my mind reconciling these things.

We have just finished the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity, but when non-Catholics see things like this surely their schisms and heresies are justified in their own minds? The devil has done his work well.

Nii mihin sitä enää tarvitaan leffoja, sirkusesityksiä, pop-konsertteja, musikaaleja etc? Kirkkohan on täällä viihdyttääkseen meitä!

I apologise if it seems that I'm just ranting (which I probably am), but things like this get me very angry: but what exactly is being done about these sacrilegous celebrations and those priests who commit them? Where is the "Stop! Or else!" from the local ordinary and/or Rome? Surely if such priests think they can just ignore every liturgical norm or exhortation from Rome then some kind of canonical censure must follow, because they are leading souls astray, most probably to the devil himself?

In the interview, he priest in the ghastly stole is identified as the local youth pastor. Still, someone higher up really could stop these shows!
